Explore Kenya’s most enchanting northern frontier — a land of rugged beauty, rare wildlife, and rich cultural heritage. This 8-day safari takes you through the dramatic landscapes of Samburu National Reserve, the wildlife haven of Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Sweetwaters), and the bird paradise of Lake Nakuru National Park.
From sighting the Samburu Special Five (Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx) to visiting the chimpanzee and rhino sanctuaries, this tour is a journey of discovery, conservation, and breathtaking scenery.
Approx. driving time: 6–7 hours
Depart Nairobi after breakfast, crossing the equator at Nanyuki as you head north through dramatic landscapes and arid plains. Arrive in Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge or camp.
In the late afternoon, enjoy your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River — the lifeline of Samburu — where elephants, lions, and leopards gather to drink.

Spend the day exploring Samburu’s rugged terrain and unique wildlife. This reserve is home to rare northern species collectively known as the Samburu Special Five.
Morning and afternoon game drives will reveal Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, and the elegant gerenuk browsing on tall acacia trees.
In the evening, relax by the riverside and enjoy the serene sunset.

After breakfast, drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges.
Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary (the only one in Kenya) and the rhino sanctuary, home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth.
In the evening, enjoy a night game drive (optional) to spot nocturnal animals such as aardvarks and hyenas.

Spend a full day exploring Ol Pejeta — a model for wildlife conservation and community development.
Go on morning and afternoon game drives in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. You can also visit the Endangered Species Enclosure, a protected area that houses rare species under 24-hour protection.

Approx. driving time: 5–6 hours
After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, located in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and later enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Lake Nakuru is famous for its flamingos, rhinos, and leopards. You’ll also see pelicans, buffaloes, and Rothschild giraffes among others.

Spend a relaxed day exploring the park. Drive up to Baboon Cliff and Lion Hill for panoramic views of the lake.
